Two Percent Era and Travel

What is the Two Percent Era and how it relates to travel? It’s quite simple. We represent the 2 Percent Era, the ones who have achieved sobriety and managed to maintain it. Consider this a movement, a supportive community. We accept you regardless of where you are on your journey! We accept you with just one minute clean, one month, or even one year! We’re here to assist you in extending that one minute to two, that month to 90 days, and beyond.

We understand that it can all seem incredibly daunting. For some of us, staying sober is a constant battle, a lifelong challenge. The key lies in how we choose to confront it. Do we opt to return to old habits? Do we choose to then struggle to get clean again? Or, do we take it one second at a time?

We recognize that each of us has our own unique way of dealing with addiction. As part of the 2 Percent Era, we’re not here to pass judgment. Instead, we’re here to celebrate those moments of sobriety with you! We are here to assist you in discovering your own purpose for staying clean.

Without a clear sense of purpose, you may struggle to find the willpower needed to maintain sobriety. But with purpose, you’ll discover the strength and determination required to walk this path.

The hardest part| 2 Percent Era

It’s believed that when one embarks on this journey you are in a way traveling. We travel down unexplored roads in life that we never expected to see. Traveling down paths that we couldn’t imagine revisiting. Deciding to embark on the journey towards sobriety and being completely honest with yourself can feel like an almost impossible task. It might sound great in theory, but when you actually start the process, it’s like your whole world gets turned upside down. Not only are you trying to get sober, which throws your life into chaos because your brain is adjusting, but you’re also facing the issues that you’ve kept out of sight, both the ones you can control and the ones you cannot.

Finding your will

It’s like a whirlwind of everything you’ve been doing to yourself catching up with you all at once. Finding the willpower to keep pushing forward becomes crucial. It’s a search for that reason to keep your head above water. You often feel like you’re drowning, much like Nemo trying to figure things out with just one fin, swimming in circles and wondering why you can’t move forward.

To make progress, you need to dig deep and uncover the root of the issue. Are you running from your feelings, physical pain, heartache, or just pure laziness? You have to go through an experience that reminds you of the value of life, of truly living, and of genuine love. How can you truly experience any of these if you don’t discover your true self and your real desires in life? It’s true that one day, you wake up and realize what you genuinely want in life.

Alternatively

Alternatively, you might find yourself committed to people or places, realizing that letting others down is what keeps you coming back. You start to see that you actually enjoy being sober, and it becomes a natural part of your life. Surrounding yourself with sobriety is essential, and distancing yourself from those who haven’t found the same path is crucial. It’s hard, perhaps the most challenging thing you’ll ever do, as it requires you to step out of your comfort zone. Try something new, something that makes you uncomfortable, because that’s when you know you’re making a real change, and a different outcome awaits.

Lets talk about Resources

Resources… This is a challenge for me, given my background in a place with very few resources. However, I summoned the inner determination to relocate to an area teeming with abundant resources. While I may not be able to pinpoint specific locations, if you share your goals and destinations with me, I’ll go the extra mile to assist you in locating the necessary resources. Sometimes it takes getting away from your current surroundings to become at peace enough to embark in these travels.

Have it your way

Now, when it comes to rehab and recovery, it’s not as customizable as ordering your favorite burger at McDonald’s. You can’t have it entirely your way because, often, following the guidance of someone who’s been down this road before is the key. You see, I had to move to a completely different state, trip, stumble, fall down, and get back up countless times – probably more like a dozen – before I truly grasped it and found my way.

The Truth

Here’s the truth: nobody out here will tell you a story that’s all sunshine and rainbows. We’ve all stumbled and, in some cases, fallen flat on our faces multiple times. Some of us even rammed headfirst into the same brick wall a hundred times over. It’s a shared experience until that fateful day when your willpower, your reason, your desire collide, and you find yourself on the road to recovery!

But here’s the deal – we all mess up. The key is to keep coming back, and I promise you, with each return, you’ll stay a little longer. We’re a family, and we’re all about expanding our clan. When we gather for our family reunions, we make some noise. We leave an impression.

I’m Amy, and I’m an addict. I belong to the 2 Percent Era, and I sincerely hope you’ll take a moment to share this message with the next person who’s suffering or on the path to recovery. Let’s stand together and help each other find our footing, discover our purpose, and extend that support to everyone looking for their purpose.
